Live in Berlin

Less Details

As sensor bandwidths grow and autonomy demands real-time environmental understanding, the pressure on SoC design continues to intensify. This session explores how automotive-grade compute platforms are being architected to handle high-bandwidth, multi-modal sensor fusion—balancing latency, scalability, and safety. From CPU/GPU/NPU trade-offs to data movement bottlenecks, we’ll examine how Tier 1s and chipmakers are aligning compute architectures with the rigorous demands of L3+ systems.

In this session, we discuss:

  • Trade-offs between general-purpose CPUs, GPUs, NPUs, and domain-specific accelerators in sensor fusion pipelines
  • Architectural enablers for consistent, low-latency fusion of LiDAR, radar, camera, and ultrasonic data
  • Designing scalable compute platforms that meet ASIL-D for real-time perception and control
  • Mitigating data movement bottlenecks between sensor interfaces and central compute units through optimized SoC design
